PRESENTATION
Activity Name: Song
Time: 30 minutes
Aims: To make students know the names of the professions and their tools, to gain them the understanding the professions and what they do, to help them pronounce the words correctly, to provide them an environment that has both fun and learning in it.
Materials: Flash Cards & Video/song
Video/song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORGLQudvMWE

Procedure:  Teacher takes the flash cards out of the bag. Asks the students without showing them the pictures “What do you think I have in my hand?” After getting predictions, s/he shows that cards to students, asks them which profession it is. When all the professions are shown and recalled by students, teacher tells students that all the pictures they saw in the flashcards are belong the people work in a town all together. They have prepared something for them to tell them their story; what they do, who they are. At first they listen to the song once without any instruction or subtitles. And then they listen to the song for second time with the lyrics written as subtitles on the video. If necessary (if there are students who did not understand it well) the song can be played few more times. After all students understood the song, teacher gets volunteer students to the board and asks them to sing the song along while the video/song is playing. Each student gets a role by picking out the flashcards and they sing the part of the character they picked. They sing the chorus part all together. After the song is sung by the first group of students, next group of students get picked from rest of the class and they do the same thing as the first group. Teacher should be sure of all students are going to sing. There shouldn’t be any students left behind. The same song can be played again and again till the end of the unit, just to make sure students remember it. Also during the times that students get bored and don’t want to do anything, this song can be used to entertain them for few minutes by singing all together.
