Unit : 6  Home Sweet Home
Grade: 4th
Language Point:  Teaching vocabulary through games


PROCEDURE

Warm-up

Activity: Singing a song
Aims:        * The students will get ready for the game.
                *The students will remember the topic before the game.
                *The teacher motivates and encourages students to participate.


Material: A song named “Let’s Clean Up”


                The teacher enters the internet and opens this song. S/he wants students to listen for fun and then the teacher reopens the song and asks them to sing together while listening.

Practice

Activity: Team Game
Aims:   *The students will learn how to pronounce the words that they have learned.
*Teacher will raise children' awareness of good pronunciation by playing an enjoyable game.
*The students feel more confident thanks to the enjoyable environment.
*The students will learn how to be a team.
Materials:  PPT , two toys,candy box, board and boardmarker.



                The teacher  opens the powerpoint presentation. Each slide has a picture and there is the name of homeware in mixed order. Then he or she divides the class in three groups and gives a toy to each group. All students of each group tries to find that word and pronounce it correctly. The one who squeezes the toy first,  says the word and if it s true, this group takes ten point. Each student does that in turn. At the end of the competition, the teacher calculates the scores and gives a candy box to the winners.

Produce

Activity: Describe and Draw

Aims :  *Students will be able to make sentences with there is \there are
*Students will be able to use basic preposition such as, in,on, at, near, between,next to, under.

     Teacher divides the class into pairs . One of two describe one of the room of his or her  home. The other student draws the picture of that room. After this activity students change the roles. The students who describes the room draws this time and the students who draws the picture describes this time. At the end of the activity students compare their descriptions with the pictures.
