PRESENT
The Material: Power-point presentation
The teacher presents the words with power point presentation. These words are umbrella, snowman, ice cream, raincoat, cloud, scarf, swimming, hat, sunglasses. The teacher gives the meanings of words. Later, the teacher pronounces these words correctly. The teacher sorts out these words like noun, verb, adjective, adverb etc. Later the teacher wants students to repeat the words correctly.
PRACTICE
The Aim of the Activity: Students can develop their matching skills and relate the words with new vocabulary.
The Material: Word box, worksheet, pictures
1. Procedure:
The teacher shows the pictures and repeats the meanings. She also makes short sentences related to objects. Some students choose a piece of paper from box and they try to places the word suitable place in the sentences. Students put the words suitable place and then this cycle goes on in this way until all sentences are completed.
Students learn new words such as scarf, sunglasses, swimming etc. and use these words in a sentence. Moreover they make their own sentences at the end of the lesson. Students learn much more vocabulary permanently thanks to pictures and sentences.
PRODUCE
The Activity: Giving Instructions
The Aim of the Activity: Students improve their schemata thanks to this activity by learning new vocabulary. They foster their creativity by generating different sentences.
The Material: Pictures
1. Procedure:
There are pictures about weather condition and the paper written the name of the weather conditions. The teacher gives an instruction, focusing on specific vocabulary. For example; show me” rainy day”, and then students find the correct picture among jumbled pictures and stick to the board. The teacher wants the student to make a sentence about “rainy” so that the student can produce own sentence with his or her imagination. They can easily transfer the vocabulary to new sentences. Students complete the activity with different adjectives such as sunny, foggy, cloudy, windy etc.
