5th GRADE UNIT 6 PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHING PRONUNCIATION

LESSON : ENGLISH

GRADE: 5th

UNIT: 6 PHYSICAL EDUCATION (can and can’t)

Vocabulary:
(Smell – hear – see – listen –  touch – run- walk –jog – bike – jump –laugh – swim read- write –draw –dance )
Aim : students will be able to pronounce the words correctly
Materials: a list of these word

Activity 1 : how to pronounce  words

Present part:

The teacher comes to class with a list of words which includes verbs we use with ‘’ can and can’t in general. He pastes this list to the board . The words should be seen by everybody. The teacher should pronounce them correctly and slowly in front of the class. Then for the second time he should focus on the stress  syllable and the students should understand where is the stress syllable.








Practice  part:

The teacher ask students to be pair and ask each other what these cartoon characters can do and what they can’t do. The teacher gives enough time to discuss the characters abilities in detail. The teacher should  walk around the class when students talk about cartoon characters’ abilities and he should give gently feedback in case of mispronunciations. Then the teacher finishes the discussion and ask to volunteer students what a character can do or can not do.

Produce part:

The teacher ask students to be pair and come in front of the class and talk about what their friend can do or can not do. They will ask each other questions. For example: what can you do? Can you swim? Can’t you jump? Can you dance ? can’t you draw etc. They will learn how they can use ‘’can and can’t’’ correctly with correct pronunciations.
