5th GRADE UNIT 6 PHYSICAL EDUCATION STORYTELLING

LESSON PLAN( STORY TELLING)
LESSON : ENGLISH
GRADE: 5th
UNIT :6 PHYSICAL EDUCATION (can and can’t)
Pre- story telling:
The teacher will develop positive manners toward the story before he starts it. He should encourage students  to build up self esteem . He will give some information about the story to them.
Procedure:
The teacher asks whether they know  the names  of the animals in the story. He will tell them the title of the story and ask to guess the content of the story. He will try to find their knowledge about what an animal can do. After he prepares them to listening the story, he can continue to the story-telling stage.

The story telling stage
Activity:  Storytelling, Listening to the story ‘’A WOLF STORY’’
Aim: students will learn how they can use ‘’can and can’t ‘’ in a story. They will hear repetition form of  ‘’can and can’t’’ in the story. The students will get the meanings of some words from the story with the help of pictures and mimics of the teacher. They will realize the correct form of  pronunciation of the words.
Material: pictures of animals which are in the story.









A WOLF STORY
One day a wolf sees a lamb. He can run fast. He can catch her. The lamb can understand he can eat her. So she  says ‘’I  know you can run fast. You can catch me. But can you play the flute before you eat me. As ı hear you can play he flute better than anyone else’’. The wolf becomes very happy.  He says ‘’ yes, of course , I can play the flute. I can play the flute better than anyone else’’. He takes out his flute. He begins to play. When he finishes the lamb says  again ‘’ ohh, you can play very well. Can you play the flute once more time.’’  and he begins to play it once more time. The shepherd can hear the sound and the dog also can hear the sound. They can  come running up. They attack the wolf. And  the lamb can go back to the flock. The wolf runs and thinks he can’t  catch the lamb. He tries to find something else. Suddenly, he sees a deer. He thinks he can catch her because he can run fast. The deer understand he can catch her. He can eat her. So she says ‘’ ’I  know you can run fast. You can catch me. But can you play the flute before you eat me. As I hear you can play he flute better than anyone else’’. The wolf becomes very happy.  He says ‘’ yes, of course , I can play the flute. I can play the flute better than anyone else’’. He takes out his flute. He begins to play. When he finishes the deer  says  again ‘’ ohh, you can play very well. Can you play the flute once more time.’’  and he begins to play it once more time. The other deer can hear the sound. They can come running up. They attack the wolf. They can rescue their friend. Finally , the wolf can’t catch both the lamb and the deer.

            

   THE ORIGINAL FORM OF THE STORY
A wolf carried off alamb. The lamb said, " I know you are going to eat me, but before you eat me I would like to hear you play the flute. I have heard that you can play the flute better than anyone else, even the shepherd himself."

The wolfwas so pleased at this that he took out his flute and began to play.

The shepherd and the dogs heard the sound, and they came running up and fell onthe wolfand the lamb was able to get back to the flock.

Post- storytelling activity:
Aim: the teacher should understand whether they understand the story or not. He should encourage them to use language pattern in the story.
Materials: the same pictures can be used.
Procedure:
The teacher choose volunteers students to come in front of the class and try to act the story . they can change the script but they should focus on the grammar patterns  like  ‘’ can  and can’t’’.  They can use the pictures to remember what happened in the story.
