LANGUAGE SKILLS: SPEAKING

OBJECTIVES:
·          Students will learn some rules which can/can’t be done in classroom .
·         They can use these rules in real life.
·         They can practice their speaking abilities thanks to these activities.
·         They can be aware of the language which they use in these activities.
·         They can learn these imperatives in  enjoyable classroom environment.

MATERIALS:  a table which consists of  some rules and pictures about classroom rules, card box  which are written numbers from 1 to 9.

 ACTIVITY 1 : The teacher prepares a table occuring from 9 part and consisting of some classroom rules in 6 of it and in the other 3 of it  there are ‘lucky’ parts. She divides the class in group of 9 and wants them to choose a card which she writes the number from 1 to 9 from the box. Then she wants them to reply the question on the table according to the numbers they choose. For example; the student who chooses number 2, replies the question in that block of the  table. But the students who choose ‘lucky’ block is lucky because they can answer  any question from the other 6 block depending on their desire.

ACTIVITY 2 : The teacher chooses one of the students in class and says some classroom rules to his/her ear. Then she wants him to act this rule without saying anything. And she says the wrong rule with the aim of confusing the other students. But she wants them to say the true rule which she shows. For example; the teacher says: ‘ Don’t sleep in the classroom’ to his ear and he tries to show this rule. But before the students, the teacher says ‘ he is running. Don’t run in the classroom.’ Then the students understand that she is cheating on them and they say: ‘ No, he is sleeping. Don’t sleep in the class. ‘ It goes on like that until they’re sure about their learning.
