4th Grade Unit 6 Home Sweet Home Grammar Activities

Unit: 6- Home Sweet Home

Present:

Activity : Turntable

Objectives:
-Students will  be aware of the structure and meaning.
-Students will focus students ‘attention on the language forms.

Material: A turntable



     The teacher  presents the language forms and structures of this unit. The student focus on the usage of there is and there are  patterns. And she or he also show them the usage of some prepositions via turntable.

Practice:

Activity  : Describe The Bedroom

Objectives:
-Students will be able to make sentences with there is \there are
-students will be able to use basic preposition such as, in,on, at, near, between,next to, under.

Material:

    The teacher sticks a picture of a room .Students are asked to tell about the bedroom on the board. They have to use there is /there are and  prepositions which are taught to them. Then the teacher corrects if they make mistakes.

 Produce:

Activity: Describe and Draw

Objectives:
-Students will be able to make sentences with there is \there are
-students will be able to use basic preposition such as, in,on, at, near, between,next to, under.

     Teacher divides the class into pairs . One of two describe one of the room of his or her  home. The other student draws the picture of that room. After this activity students change the roles. The students who describes the room draws this time and the students who draws the picture describe this time. At the end of the activity students compare their descriptions with the pictures.
