1)NOTICING
Watching  a video
Materials
computer and video (The Seasons Song)
Aim of the activity
 Students’ attention is drawn and they have some information about the topic thanks to this video.
Stages:
ü  The teacher finds a video about 4 seasons and shows it in the classroom.
ü  The video also includes adjectives about seasons such as rainy, cold, hot, warm, cloudy, windy etc.
ü  It also gives suggestions about each season by using Let’s.
ü  For example: Let’s go swimming in the summer.






2) STRUCTURING
Matching weather conditions to suggesstions
Materials
10 different papers consisting of a weather conditions and suggestions

Aim of the activity
ü  students’ critical thinking skills will be fostered through cognitive stages

ü  Students’ learning process will be stronger through social colloboration and cooperation.
Stages
ü  Students are divided to 5 groups.

ü  The teacher hands out 2 different papers each group including a weather condition and suggestion which aren’t matched each other.


ü  One of the groups says a weather condition and one of the other groups tries to give suggestions  by using Let’s according to given the weather condition and after they give suggestion they say the weather condition in thier hands. And this goes on.
The dialogues will be in this way:
-It is rainy.                      - Let ‘s take an umbrella.
-It is sunny.                     - Let’ s go swimming.
-It is snowy.                     -Let’ s make a snowman.
-It is windy.                     - Let’ s fly a kite.
-It is cold.                        - Let’ s wear our thick clothes.






3)PROCEDURALIZING

Drawing and coloring activity

Materials
A worksheet prepared by the teacher

Aim of the activity
ü  Students’ desicion making skills are fostered and they reinforce their learning about the topic

ü  They also produce something about the topic  in the way thay want.

Stages

ü  Teacher  hands out a worksheet each student.

ü  Firstly, students are asked to choose their favourite season and then they are asked
to draw and color their favourite season’s picture.

ü  Thirdly, the teacher wants students to answer some questions below  the picture such as what is the weather like in your favourite season?, what are your favourite season months? Please , give suggestions about your favourite season by using Let’s.

ü  After they have done this, they can put it(their production) to their portfolios..
