The Activity: Speaking Circle
The Aim of the Activity: Students try to express themselves orally so that their speaking ability improves highly.
The teacher starts talking about the weather condition. Today, the weather is sunny. What is your suggestion about? One student replies that “Let’s go for a walk.” Another student asks his friend “When is winter?” He replies that the weather is cold in winter. Children make a snowman and play snowball etc. Different student describe other seasons. Later, the teacher asks some questions such as “What is the weather like in fall?” “What do you wear in spring?” The students answer all questions and they continue to ask questions one another.
PRACTICE
The Activity: Define the weather
The Aim of the Activity: Revise vocabulary especially adjectives. Students’ description skills are improved. The main focus is fluency rather than language point. While students define the weather, they improve their narration techniques and creativity.
The Material: Cue-cards
1. Procedure
The teacher groups all students and gives cue cards to students to use them for defining the weather. They can define it by using adjectives, adverbs etc. Moreover, the student can give suggestions about the weather. For instance, according to cue card the weather is snowy and student can suggest “Let’s make a snowman.” In respect of this suggestion, the whole class tries to predict the weather condition. Each group member defines the weather condition based on the cue-card. The rest of the student tries to predict correct answer.

The Activity: Connect the pictures
The Aim of the Activity: The aim is improving fluency and introducing a theme or a story.
The Material: Pictures
1. Procedure
The teacher puts the three pictures on the board, and give students five minutes to make up short stories in groups so that they are encouraged to be imaginative which must include the three pictures or words, feedback stories. Students generate different stories and share each other so that their speaking skills develop considerably.
