4th Grade Unit 6 Home Sweet Home Game Activities

LANGUAGE POINTS:"Game related to Home Sweet Home"
MATERIALS: Power-point Presentations about the parts of home and home objects, and a power-point game.
AIMS: The teacher aims at improving students' vocabulary and speaking ability by using games.

PRESENT AND PRACTICE
            The teacher starts the course by showing a video about the parts of the house. He shows the video for the first time without any pause. In the second turn he sometimes stops the video and asks questions about the rooms and furniture on the screen. Then he divides the classroom into equal groups, chooses a student from each group and explains what they will do. Teacher will show a presentation, each group will talk about it and decide which room it is at last the chosen students will answer. According to answers each group will gain points and teacher will have a surprise for the first group. Teacher shows 11 pictures, gets answers and chooses the first group. Then teacher decides to give one more chance to the other groups and shows another powerpoint, which has the same rules but shows pictures of 15 furniture. after completing the activity, teacher chooses the first group of this activity. Then he covers the what they did again and finishes the course.
