Subject: illnesses and should/shouldn't pattern
Aims: Students will be able to listen and understand the story
Students will be able to retell the story.
Students will be learn to be a team and work
cooperatively.
Students will be write a dialogue and act it
out.
Arda’s Illness
Arda is a little
boy. He always has a toothache,
stomachache, sore throat and fever. He is always ill because he doesn’t listen to
his mother. He doesn’t like vegatables and fruits but he likes chocolate,
macaroni and hamburger very much. These
are very harmful foods.
One day Arda has a cough and fever.
His mother and Arda goes to the doctor. Arda does not like to go to the doctor
. The doctor says to Arda ‘what is the matter with you?’ he says: I have a bad cough and I have a sore
throat.’ The doctor controls Arda and write some medicine to him. The doctor
does injection to him Arda cries very much.
The doctor asks
“Do you eat properly?” Arda’s mother says “No he doesn’t. Arda doesn’t like
vegatables. He eats hamburger, chips, macarony.” The doctor says,” Arda you
should eat healty food. You should eat vegatables and fruits. If you dont eat
healthy food you can ill and you must go to the doctor everytime. And then you should brush your teeth . If you
don’t brush your teaath you have a
toothache. “Arda says “Ok I will eat healty foods and brush my teeth and I will be a healty .“
Arda gives
promise to his mother. He eats vegatables and fruits . He does not eat
hamburger chips. He is a healthy boy now.
Activity: remembering the illnesses
Aim: to make the students remember the topic
to understand aims of the story to
teach health problems.
1- Teacher presents some questions
about the topic and wants them to fill in the blanks.
2- Teacher talks about the story to
take their attention.

Activity 1: retelling the story by looking at
the pictures
Aims: Teacher will analyze students’

Activity 2: Team Game

Teacher divides the class in two groups
and gives
a toy to each group.
2-
All students of each group tries to find that word and pronounce
it correctly
3-
The one who squeezes
the toy first, says the word and if it s
true, this group takes ten point.
4-
Each
student do that in turn. At the end of the competition, the teacher calculates
the scores and gives a candy box to the winners.
Activity 3: Writing a dialogue and role
playing
Aims: Students will be able to write dialogues by
using should/ shouldn’t and health problems.
Students will be able to act the
dialogues which they write.

Teachers wants them to write a doctor-
patient conversation

Students work in pairs and write a
dialogue

Students will act them in front of the
class.
