                             ACTIVITIES ABOUT LISTENING AND SPEAKING

UNIT: MY REGION  

         

GRADE: 5

ACTIVITY 1: Memory Game

AIMS:

       1)      To develop memory skills

       2)      To provide the students to improve listening skills

       3)      To practice pronunciation

PROCEDURE: After the teacher recognizes the memory game to the students, the teacher gives an example about this game. For example, “Last week I went to the Aegean Region. And then the students continue saying other sentences by saying the first sentences. It continues until one of the students can’t say the all sentences according to the lines.

ACTIVITY 2: Guessing Games

AIMS:

1) To provide the students to describe the objects or things with their words

2) To provide the right pronunciation

PROCEDURE: The teacher says her students to describe one feature of the geographical features and her friends try to guess it. All students in the class describe the geographical features and it continues until all students do. If they can’t know the answer the same students continues to describe the next word, but if they give the true answer the student who tells the true tries to describe her word.
