POINT : There is/ There are
AIMS:
Teaching basic words about parts of the house and furnitures. Teaching the
usage of there is/ there are structure.
PROCEDURE
In
noticing part teacher begins with the parts of the house and furniters, in order to prepare a
background for there is/there are and prepositions. At the begining teacher asks
students about their own house. He asks about the rooms and the furniters they
have. After that teacher explains the goals they will reach at the end of the
course and starts the course by using the video he has found before. The video
shows the parts of the house. After the video teacher divides the clasrrom into
four groups. He gives each group an envelope , in which there are little
pictures of the furnitures. Then he continues with the powerpoint presentation
he has prepared, which has the same pictures of furnitures with the little
pictures he distributed at the begining. When teacher changed the picture on
the presentation asks the student who has the same picture of the furniture and
ask again “Is there a sofa/ TV/ bed… in your house?” Teacher completes the part by doing the same
thing until students understand the usage of there is/ there are. Teacher tell the students keep
the pictures until the end of the course.
By using the same pictures both in the
presentation and envelopes teacher teach the vocabulary of the unit. By asking
questions during the presentation, teacher encourages the students to notice
there is/ there are. At the and he ask about the misunderstood points and make
the needed explanations.

STRUCTURING

POINT:
prepositions(in, on, under, next to)
AIMS:
Teaching
basic prepositions of place (in, on, under, next to) and how to use them.
PROCEDURE
In this part teacher shows another video about
prepositions and explains the prepositions very shortly . After that he uses
the objects he has and asks students about the place of the object. ( he puts
my book in/ on/ under and next to my bag
and expect students to identify the location of my book correctly.) If he
notices any unclear part about prepositions, he makes explanations and continues
until students tell the correct position of the object. Then teacher chooses a
volunteer and asks the class to give
commands to their friend. (Stand next to door/ window, on/ under the desk or table). As the last
activity fort this part, he puts his hands on/ in/ under and next to desk and
asks the students do the same thing at the same time with his orders. He
continues the activity in a regular order, then he gives up doing and gives
commands in a mixed order. In this part he activates students and lets them
learn by doing with controlled activities.

AIMS:
Students will be able to use prepositions and there is/there are in the contex.
PROCEDURE
At the end of the course teacher puts a carton on the
board, which has a picture of undesigned rooms. Then he gives each group name
of a room (bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room), asks them come to the board in turn and stick
the pictures of related furnitures to
the suitable room. Whicever come to the board, he asks there is/ there are
questions and try to evaluate about their learning. As the final activity
theteacher opens a picture of a living room, which he designed specially for
the course, and asks some of the students to describe the room by using
prepositions and the words they learnt. After these activites if he notices any
unclear parts, makes corrections and explanations carefully and finishes the
course.
MATERIALS:
A carton that has the picture of a house, picture of a living room, little
pictures of furnitures
