                                                      Teaching Speaking
LESSON: English
  CLASS: 4th grade
UNIT: My clothes
LANGUAGE POINT: Fluent Speech

-PRESENT-
ACTIVITY: Puppet show and preparing short monolog
AIM: Students will be able to pronounce the words correctly through hearing their correct spelling from the teacher and then they will try to produce it by themselves
PROCEDURE:  Teacher says that that day’s topic unit is my clothes and colours.
Afterwards she introduces her puppet to the class and to make the class funnier she make the puppet talk and make it tell the topic.
The puppet (teacher) picks the paper clothes one by one and tells their names to the students and wanth them repeat after it.
Teacher finishes her presentation and want volunteers to come in front of the class, wear the puppet and tell the cloth names to his/her friends.

      -PRACTICE-
ACTIVITY:  Find the differences
AIM: Students will be able to talk about the picture they see and work collaboratively with their pair
MATERIALS: Difference pictures
PROCEDURE: Students work in pairs.
One of them has a picture and the other one has nearly the same picture with 5 differences
Students do not show their pictures to each other
Firstly one student begins and tells something about his/her picture. For example “there are three girls”.
The other one takes turn and s/he says “blonde wears skirt” etc.
With talking to each other, they try to find the  differences

    -PRODUCE-
     ACTIVITY: One Minute Talk
AIM: Students will be able to speak fluently about the clothe item that they pick up
     MATERIALS: Cue Cards
     PROCEDURE:
Teacher has the cue cards that have a clothe picture in it
Teacher puts these cards face down, with perhaps numbers uppermost.
Learners take turns choosing a card.
This card has the clothe item about which they must speak without stopping for a minute.
(optional:for the young learners maybe we can reduce the time and make it 30 seconds or we can modify it rather than talking 1 minute, saying at least 4 sentences about the item etc. It is up to your choice)
