4th grade Unit 3 My Family Vocabulary Activities

                                               FIND THE SUITABLE PICTURE

            PURPOSE: The purpose of this activity is to teach the family members to the students.

            VOCABULARY POINT: The family members ( grandfather, grandmother, father, mother, brother, sister, baby, uncle, aunt, cousin)
                      
  ACTIVITY INSTURCTIONS:
            Firstly; students watch a video which is related to my family unit. Students give their attention only main words such as granfather, grandmother, father, mother etc. After the video, they give their attention to the presentation which I’ve prepared for them. The presentation covers the words that belong to my family unit. During the video; I read the words and they repeat the words after me without saying Turkish  meanings. In this way; they both learn the pronounciation of words and their meanings. After that, we practice the words by finding the suitable picture. I open the other presentation and it covers only the words. I show the word to them and they try to find suitable picture which I’ve prepared. They find the suitable word and stick it to the wall. After that ; they find the suitable word and stick it under the picture. And the activity goes on like that until the pictures finish. The activity finishes after placing all the words.

ACTIVITY: LISTEN AND REMEMBER
PURPOSE: The purpose of this activity is to teach the family members to the students.

I put the photos of family members and the words on a desk. We practice the words by finding the suitable picture. I open the other presentation and it covers only the words. I show the word to them and they try to find suitable picture which I’ve prepared. They find the suitable picture and stick it to the wall. After that ; they find the suitable word and stick it under the picture. And the activity goes on like that until the pictures finish. The activity finishes after placing all the words.

        PRODUCE PART

ACTIVITY: MAKE YOUR OWN FAMILY TREE
PURPOSE: The purpose of this activity is to understand the relationships of family members and to learn the words more deeply.
ACTIVITY INSTRUCTIONS
            Children became groups of four or five or they can work individually .I give the students A4 papers and want them to make their own family member tree. They try to make the family member  tree and I help them while they are doing this activity. After that, I collect them and I give feedback to them.
                        MATERİALS
-          A4 Papers for each student
-          Pencil or pen
