4th Grade Unit 3 My Family Songs



  SONG

Unit: 3, My Family

Grade: 4

Language point:  Basic family members

Aims:   To teach students new grammar structures and vocabulary by using a song
             To make students improve their pronunciation.
             To make the lesson becomes more enjoyable and active by taking them into the activities by singing song together.
             To encourage students be more active in the learning process.

Materials:

 PRESENT

    Teacher comes to the class and says hello to everybody. She introduces the unit to students. While she is introducing the new unit she uses flash cards to get the attention of the students to the lesson. She shows the basic family members from the cards. Then, she makes students listen to the song about the family.

PRACTICE

   After the students listen to the song one time, teacher makes them listen to it again. And, she wants them to sing the song together. She emphasizes the importance of pronunciation of words such as father, mother, sister, brother, and etc. The students all sing the song.     Teacher gives the written form of song which has some gaps in it. She tells that they are responsible to listen to the song again and fill in the blanks according to the song. After they finish, teacher and the students make it together. And, so, teacher can control their learning situation and evaluate them. 

PRODUCE

  Teacher wants from student to create their own song about their family. After they write, teacher asks who is the volunteer to sing his or her song. Then, she or he stands and sings his/her song. This continues like that untill teacher finds it enough.
