Then, s/he activates the children’s prior knowledge and explains what they are going to do with the purpose of raising their awareness;
-          “ Do you like soup? Which soup is your favorite? … Today, we are going to listen to a story about a man who visits a village and then make a stone soup. Yes, stone soup! Do you think that it is possible? We will see.”
After motivating them and creating interest for the story, the teacher starts to tell “Stone Soup”, by using the materials. The story is ;
  One day, a man comes into a village. The people in this village don’t like sharing their things. He is vey hungry and wants some food from the villagers. But the villagers tell him
-“We don’t have enough food and we are hungry too. So we can’t share with you.” The man tells them
-“ I have a stone. If you give me a pot,  I can make a soup from this stone.” The villagers are surprised but they give him a pot. Then, he puts the stone in the pot, stirs it, and tastes. He tells them
-“Mmm it’s good, but if you bring some food, it will be better”. A villager brings some potatoes and the other one brings onion. And all villagers bring some food from their homes: carrots, tomatoes, milk, salt and pepper. In the end, they make a delicious soup. The man says that
- “It is a magic stone. The soup is delicious because you share your food and you make the soup tohether.”And after that day, the  villagers always share their food.
While telling the story slowly and clearly, the teacher uses intonation, gestures and mimics to convey the meaning. As s/he is telling the soup making phase, s/he glue some vegetable pictures onto the  pot picture. During telling, to involve the children, s/he asks some questions such as
-“ Do you think will the villagers give him a pot?”
-“ Do you think it will be a delicious soup?” .
  Completing the story, the teacher says ;
-“ Yes, it is a delicious soup because they make the soup together, not alone.” “Now, we will make a group work like the villagers”.
