Noticing activities: PowerPoint Presentation
                                 Puppet show

Aim: These are noticing activities. The aim of these activities is to attract attention of students   and motive them for learning. They make learning more visual. While the new topic and grammar focus are introduced with dialogues students will see the written forms of sentences, new vocabularies thanks to the presentation.

Materials: Song, PowerPoint Presentation, hand puppets
Procedure: 1) Names of the lessons such as history, maths, etc. will be presented with Powerpoint presentation
                    2) Grammar point will be presented with dialogues with the help of hand puppets

An example of dialogue with puppets:                 
  • Hi! How are you?
  • I am fine, and you?
  • I am fine, thank you. How many lessons have you got this week?
  • I have got nine lessons.
  • Ohh really! What lessons have you got?
  • I have got Maths, Science, English, Music, Art, PE, History, Computer, Chess
  • What is your favorite lesson?
  • My favorite lesson is Art.






Structuring activity: Filling the missing parts on weekly schedule.

Aim: This activity is a structuring activity. The aim of this activity is to help students internalize the language forms which are presented in the noticing part. In this activity students will not only use the expected language forms, but also they will practice language. In this activity students will be active during the learning process in contrast to the traditional activities in which students are passive. As students are active learning is more enjoyable and effective.

Materials: cards which have the missing parts of the schedule, weekly schedule, board
Procedure:
1) The weekly schedule which has got missing parts will be drown on the board.
2) The cards which contains the missing parts of the weekly schedule will be sticked on the board
3) Students will form groups and each group will have the complete form of Schedule.
4) When the teachers ask questions like “What lessons has she got on Monday? How many lessons has she got on Monday?” students will go to the board and stick the related card to the related place on the schedule.

Proceduralizing activities: Three-Step-Interview
                                             Organizing a weekly schedule

Aim: This activity is a proceduralizing activity. The aim of this activity is to encourage        
students to use the language in a communicative way. As there is interaction with other   students they practice the language in a more meaningful way. They start to produce the language in this activity. Moreover, in this activity students can enjoy language as they use it with their pairs and class.
Materials: -
Procedure
1) Students will form pairs
2) Students will design their own weekly schedule
3) Student A will ask student B questions about his or her weekly schedule, and then student B will ask student A questions about his or her weekly schedule.They will ask questions like Which lessons have you got on Monday? How many English lessons have you got? What is your favorite lesson? When is your history lesson?
4) Students will share the information they get with the whole class.
