5th Grade Unit 4 School Life Vocabulary Activities

PRESENTATION   PART

UNIT: Classroom  Rules

GRADE: 5

VOCABULARY POINTS: Run, listen,fight,raise, sleep.

ACTIVITY 1:Presenting the vocabulary with a turn –table.

AIMS:

1.     To comprehend the meaning of the  words from the pictures.
 
      2.     To comprehend the meaning of the words by demonstration.

     3.   To pronounce the words correctly.
     4.  To learn the written form of the words.

MATERIALS: A  Picture Book prepared with two pink cartoons,chipboard, pictures and stick.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

 
PROCEDURE: The teacher presents the vocabulary using  a turn-table which was prepared by her. She shows each word by turning the papers .While starting with the first word, she pronounces the words and wants the students to pronounce the words.After each word pronounced,the teacher  writes the written form of the words on the board. Then, the teacher  demonsrate the words with a student by action after each word.

 

ACTIVITY 2: Solving the puzzle by looking at pictures.

MATERIALS: Colourful cartoons, pictures and stick.

AIMS:To provide thestudents to practice the words ( run,sleep,fight, raise,listen)

PROCEDURE: The teacher wants some of the students to solve the puzzle which includes pictures about run,sleep,fight,raise ,listen.The student will look at picture and then he/she write word.
