MATERIALS: Power point presentation, pictures, cartons, colorful
pencils, worksheet,
ACTIVITY 1: Presenting the vocabulary with the pictures on which
are written the names of the geographical features
AIMS:
1)
To
understand the meaning of the words from the pictures
2)
To
pronounce the words correctly
3)
To
learn how the words are written
PROCEDURE: The teacher comes the class with the power point
presentation. She writes the words and pronounces them. After that she opens
the slide and starts to read the names of the geographical features and shows
the picture of them. She shows more than one pictures about this features like
mountain and wants the students guess the meaning of the word. After the
students guess the meaning the teacher pronounces them again with all class.
ACTIVITY 2: Fill in the blanks
AIMS:
1)
To
provide the students make practice with the words that they learn (mountain,
lake, river…)
2)
To
provide the students remember the words
PROCEDURE: The teacher
wants the students fill in the blanks with the words that are written on the
paper. The students read the sentences and they fill in the blanks with the
suitable words.
ACTIVITY 3: Station Technique
AIMS:
1)
To
provide the students produce new things about these words
2)
To
provide the students learn themselves
PROCEDURE:
The teacher
brings 4 different cartons. She divides the class four groups and gives a
cartoon to each group. All groups have only 3 minutes to make them. One group
make a picture about these words (mountain, lake, sea, river..). The other
group will write a poem about these words. The other group will make a
caricature with these words. The last group will write a catchword. After three
minutes all groups will change their cartons and so all groups will do
something on four cartons.
