LESSON PLAN

LEVEL:5th Grade

SUBJECT: Health Problems

OBJECTIVES: 

• Students will be able to develop their speaking skills.
• Students will be able to practice speaking.
• Students will be able to retell the fairytale 'snow white'.
•  Students will be able to speak in a stress-free environment with their friends.
• Students will be able to develop their communication abilities.

MATERIALS:

a video about the fairytale 'snow white' (this video is prepared by Evrim ERTAY),

a box which includes some flashcards in it

some flashcards about health problems ( there are some situations on them)

PROCEDURE:

            The teacher enters the class with a box to attract the students' interest. She asks some questions such as do you like fairytales ? do you like snow white? what happens the snow white has got the flu?. She asks these questions as a warm up questions. Then she shows a video about the snow white. She shows the video twice to them so that they can understand clearly. After that, she gives them two minutes to prepare themselves and to retell the story with mimics and gestures. She asks for some students who are willing to retell the story. Some students display their performance. After this retelling story part, she asks for two students to come to board and they choose a flashcard written a situation. One of them reads the situation loudly, then they are wanted to act out.

EVALUATION:    The teacher asks them what they have learned today to be aware of their own learning.
