4th Grade Unit 2 My Classroom Vocabulary Activities

UNIT 2:MY CLASSROOM
Grade:4th

 
Words:pencil, book, rubber/eraser, ruler, dictionary, notebook, school bag, notebook, pencil case.

Materials:Real school objets,pictures

Aims:To teach school words to children with real materials.
 
 


PRESENTING

Words: pencil, book, rubber/eraser, ruler, dictionary, notebook, school bag, notebook, pencil case.
      Activity: Demonstration

Introduce the objects with real materials. New words are introduced to students with authentic materials.
     Aim: In this part students learn the meaning of new words. They will make connections between words and objects. They will not use translation to learn new words. Thanks to this students will have need to think about meaning of new words.

     Materials: Real school objects

     PRACTISING
     
      Words: pencil, book, rubber, ruler, dictionary, notebook, school bag, notebook, pencil case.

Activity: Matching pictures

 Aim:  Using colourful pictures can be interesting for students. Students match the pictures with their names and make guess what a word’s meaning is. While they are doing matching, they enjoy and learn the new words without translating.
