- NOTICING
Activity 1:
OBJECTIVES:
1. Students will be aware of some vocabulary " Car, toy guitar, teddy bear, doll, jigsaw puzzle, computer games, train, robot, crayons, paints, pens, bug”
Teacher comes to class with a bag full of toys in order to draw student’s attention: “This is my toy bag. What are there in my toy bag? She puts them on the desk while talking about them one by one: “I have got baby doll. There is a teddy bear in my toy bag. I have got a toy guitar. I have got a small car There is train in my toy bag. I have got a puzzle etc."
Teacher gives the instruction “There is a song in the video. Listen to the toys song (by Peter Weatherall- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlkZm8Z2lb0) carefully. There are toys in the video. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlkZm8Z2lb0) We will watch the video and then we will find the toys in my toy bag” Students watch a video regarding the toys once. Teacher divides the board in two columns written √ or X on it. They watch the video part by part. Teacher stops the video and asks "What is there in the toy box and what isn’t there in the box: “Have I got computer games? I have got a computer but I haven’t got computer games. Is there a train set in my toy box? No there is not. Have I got a track /carriage? No I haven’t got. Are there crayons and paints in my toy box? No there aren’t. Have I got a bug? No I haven't got a bug.”Teacher elicits the answers and writes the words under the columns. Students watch the second part and the third part of the video and do the same for another toys.
B. STRUCTURING
Activity 2:
OBJECTIVES:
1. Students will be able to identify the toys with the help of the instructions.
Teacher puts the toys on the desk. Students come in front of the class one by one. Teacher gives an instruction focusing on a specific vocabulary. "Point to the teddy bear, Touch the car, Show me the guitar, and so on."
Activity 3:
OBJECTIVES:
1. Students will take the control of the lesson so they will be able to use the words in context.
Students give the instructions such as "Point to the teddy bear, Touch the car, Show me the guitar, and so on." Then the teacher performs. All of the students take part in the activity.
C. PROCEDURALIZATION
Activity 4:
OBJECTIVES:
1. Students will be able to remember and write the names of the toys
Students play a game. Teacher divides the class into two groups. Teacher shows one of the toys and one student from each group comes and writes the word on the board. Teacher shows another toy and another student from each group comes and writes the word on the board.
Students create their own vocabulary books. They note the words. They stick toy pictures at home.
