Activity Name: My Toys!

Procedure:

The teacher starts the lesson with the video of toys song to attract students’ attention.
While replaying the video for the second time for better understanding of the new vocabulary
about the toys, students are told to write down the names of their favourite toys. Then the
teacher asks students randomly to say their favourite toys.

Activity Name: Guess what?

Procedure:

The teacher puts various flashcards of toys on the front desk. She asks students to
come and pick a card without showing it your classmates, and to describe it to their friends by
using have got – has got and there is – there are structures. While the student describes the
toy, the others try to guess what it is. The one who have guessed true comes to the board and
picks another card to describe it.

Materials: Various toys flashcards (flashcards 1.jpg, flashcards 2.jpg)

Activity Name: Our Toys, Our Room

Procedure:

Students are divided into the groups of 6 and they are told to ask every friend in their
groups one by one to describe their favourite toys in terms of colour, number, size, weight,
shape or specific features. The ones who ask questions about the toy take notes whereas the
others describe the toy. The task is drawing a picture of a room that includes each student’s
favourite toys. The teacher explains the task and tells them to draw the picture based on their
notes. Students are given 5-10 minutes to complete their pictures. At the end of the activity,
one member from each group comes to the board and shows their picture to other friends and
they make comments.
