UNIT: 5/ Cities

GRAMMAR POINT: prepositions and giving directions

Material: puppet and video

Aims:

ü  Children  are able to participate the learning process actively
ü  they can improve their prononciation by playing an enjoyable game.
ü  Children feel more confortable thanks to the enjoyable game
ü  Children have a chance to improve their social skills.
ü  To be able to answer ‘Where is…’

Warm-up Activity:  Watching video about preposition

Produce: teacher comes to class and greets the students. In order to prepare them to play a geme s/he opens a video which includes some usual prepositions such as in, on, at, behind. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idJYhjGyWTU



Game:  Hide and seek

Produce: Teacher brings a puppet to class and asks what kind of game they play in their social life. After taking their answer, she says that in some games we are both entertain and learn so today we will play hide and seek with our puppet which name is Puppy and try to learn giving direction.

Hide and seek:A volunteer student goes out from the class. Students in class hide Puppy in somewhere and call the volunteer student. After s/he comes, s/he tries to find by asking ‘Where is Puppy’ and they reply ‘it is on the left and go straight ahead’ s/he tries to find and again asks:’ Where is Puppy?’ they reply ‘It is behind the desk’
