GRADE:5

UNIT:14 – THE HELP

FOCUSING POINT: Teaching to help by learning a song

AIMS:

To develop positive attitude towards learning second language

To get students attention with a song

To make the teaching  process more enjoyable

To warm up students

To focus on vocabulary point of song

Materials: Worksheets

PRESENTATION :

 At this part teacher wants to encourage students for singing a song so he firstly asks students what kind of music they like ,which songs or singers they listen  and whether they listen songs oftenly or not. After asking these questions teacher lets students to sing a song that they like voluntarily in classroom.

PRACTICE :

Now students are expected to listen the song by teacher. Teacher wants to make students familiar with song and structures so he will sing the song. By the way teacher develops students listening skills. The song;

Hey, how are you?

I ‘m fine but you need help

What are you doing?

Whatever you do

You need help

And i can help you

For you and me

This is for our happiness

So i can help you

And you can say me

When you need help.

ACTIVITY:

1-All students repeat the song after teacher. Then teacher gives worksheets to students about the song. Students are expected to fill the worksheet with the lyrics of song so they need to listen carefully. Teacher controls the students answers if it is necessary the song is repeated .

2-Another activity is students writing a song. Teacher asks them to write a song about chores that when they help to someone or to their family members in houseworks.

PRODUCTION:

Here students practice the song. This can be done altogether in classroom. All students and by the participation of teacher they sing the song maybe they clap their hands while singing.
