SUBJECT: UNIT 10 BIRTHDAYS (teaching grammar)

1) NOTICING

ACTIVITY1: Listening the song ‘Happy Birthday ‘Then presentation of the teacher

AIM: Taking students interest to the subject

          To comprehend the subject (what will be done and learnt in that lesson)        

MATERIAL: Video about the birthdays and presentation which is made by teacher

PROCEDURE: First the song will be listened and in the second time while listening teacher wants student to repeat after the song. After song teacher makes his presentation and then ask question ‘how old are you?’  To the students and listens their answers.

2) PROCEDURALIZING

ACTIVITY2: Making a calendar showing your friends birthday
MATERIAL: Hand out
AIM: To study in a collaborative way

         To be able to use the structure which is learned during the speaking activity

PROCEDURE: Teachers give hand out (calendar) and wants student to stand up and walk around the class while asking the birthdays of their friends as much different months as they find. Then students take not on the calendar. After five minutes teacher wants them to go back their place and share their information about the birthdays of their friends with the class.

3) STRUCTURING

ACTIVITY3: Hand out

AIM: To be able to work on that lesson individually

         To produce their own sentences
PROCEDURE:Teacher gives students hand out which includes questions and wants students answer them individually.
