PART II Activities
Noticing Activity:
Objectives:
- To exercise in students’ English as well as in everyday life with drama and song activities.
- To assist students in learning to create a narrative that creates memory due to memory easily memorize what they have learned and use it in different environments.
- To attract the students' attention,
·
To
increase their level of awareness about farm animals and like and dislike
structures. With them, teacher can control their background knowledge..
Materials;
- The projector and video.
The procedure of the lesson;
·
The
teacher comes to the class and greets the students by asking questions such as
‘How are you, today?’.. etc.
·
Then
she starts to the lesson by asking questions such as; ‘Do you like animals?’
‘What are your favorite animals?’ or ‘Have you ever thought to feed an animals
in your home?’ .. etc to be able to check their background knowledge.
·
Then,
she tells the students that they will listen to and watch a video related to
the farm animals and asks them to sing while they are listening.
·
Students
listen to the song and try to sing and make the animal sounds.
·
After
listening, she controls whether they have learned the names of the farm animals
or not. This activity focuses the
students’ attention on the farm life topic.

Structuring Activity
Objectives;
·
To
help the students internalize the grammatical patterns such as like and dislike
structures using the animal words. Because they are expected to produce
sentences including these structures with the animals.
·
To
control whether they have learned the farm animals and like and dislike
structure taught before, well. To see whether they can use like and dislike
structures in a correct way.
·
To
struggle to make the students engage in the activities related to the farm
animals. Because; they are wanted to use these structures by making the
sentences such as ‘ Pig likes playing with the mug. The teacher asks him ‘Do
you like the pigs?’ and the student gives an answer.’ I don’t like the pigs. Thanks
to these activities the students can learn these structures and the names of
the animals, successfully.
Materials are animal flashcards and the short notes put in the
flashcards so that the students can use them.
Procedure
of the lesson :
·
The
teacher brings the flashcards of the farm animals to the class. There are the
short explanations in them.
·
He
divides the students to the groups with two people.
·
All
groups choose a flashcard randomly.
·
One
person looks at what he/she has chosen and tries to describe which animal
he/she sees on it by using the explanations put inside them by the teacher or
adding their own words. In small notes, there are the animal features. For
example; the animal is sheep. ‘’It likes grass. It says baa baa. I like them
very much.’’ In this way, He tells about
the features of the animal by using these explanations or saying another
things.. His group mate tries to guess which animal it is and describes it to
the class as far as he understands. And all class try to guess it.

If
the prediction is true, another group is in turn. However; if it is wrong, the
person describing it first tells about other features of it clearly.
·
The
activity goes on in this way.
Proceduralising Activity
Objectives;
- To make the students use the language and grammar they have learned.
- To make them active in the lesson activities.
- To make the students practice listening, writing, speaking
The material is
- The text about the farm animals. I wrote it myself. Its name is Uncle Ann’s farm.
The procedure of the lesson;

The
teacher brings the text said above. And she reads it to the class.
·
Listeners
listen to the text and the teacher reads it again and waits for a while reading
so that the students can take notes.
·
Then
they are expected to reconstruct the text, again.

UNCLE ANN’S FARM
There is a farm.
It belongs to Uncle Ann. In this farm, there are a lot of animals. For example;
dogs, horses, sheep, pigs, chicks, hens, ducks,.. etc. Each of them likes doing
different things. Come on, let’s meet them.
-Hi dog. How are
you?
-I am fine Uncle
Ann, and you?
-I want you to
explain yourself to the children.
-OKAY. First of
all, my name is Bully, I like fighting with other animals here. Because They
says they dislike me L Additionally, I like sleeping until afternoon. The
animals makes me awake so we always fight with them. I like playing with balls.
I like eating meat . that is all about me.
-thank you
Bully.
Now let us meet
the pigs.
-Hello pigs. How
are you today? Do you feel good?
- Yes uncle Ann.
We feel good. Because we ate our dinner. You know we like eating grass.
-Yes, I know it
young pigs. Look at them. They are our friends. They came here to introduce
with you. Can you describe you _
- Of course
uncle Ann. We are family. There are 6 pigs in this farm. We likes being
together always. Additionally, we like playing with mud. :D It is so
entertaining for us. Also, we like playing with other animals. That’s all for
me.
