Aim:

To activate students’ schemata.

To practice their vocabulary knowledge while reading
storytelling.

To develop students’ imaginative skills.

To practice their listening skills.
Procedure:
-
While showing pictures of characters on pp
presentation, I will read the story word by word.
-
While I am reading the story, I will stop and ask
some questions.
-
After reading the story, I will want students telling
me which parts they remember.
-
For final, I will divide the class in groups and
shape the story according to them and act it in front of the class.
The Unhappy Dog
A dog finishes
its lunch and it is lying in the garden. It is unhappy. It does not do
anything. It eats its lunch, runs and sleeps all day!
Then it
sees a cat on the wall. It starts to jump to catch the cat.
Jump
Jump Jump! He likes jumping!
The cat
laughs and says “You cannot catch me. Don’t jump!” Dog cannot jump and catch
the cat.
The dog
starts walking. It likes walking on sunny days. And it sees the fish in the aquarium.
It wants to swim all day. It likes swimming.
It
talks with the fish and says “I like swimming; I wish I could swim all day!”
Fish
says “I don’t like swimming. I have a lot of friends. Turtle likes walking,
bird likes flying and they are free. But I am not free. I don’t like swimming
in the aquarium.
The dog
feels sad and says “You are right! I like jumping and walking. I walk and jump
all day. It walks again and sees a bird on the grass.
The dog
says “You are flying and it is very good. I want to fly.”
The
bird says “I dislike flying and I wish I could run all day!”
Run run
run! I like running!
Dog
thinks it is very lucky. It can do everything. It likes jumping, swimming,
walking and running. It can do everything. It feels happy.
