Grade: 5th Grade
Language points: “likes/dislikes” structure and names of the fruits and vegetables ( apples,
oranges, bananas, strawberries, eggs, cake , ice cream)
Aims:
Students will be able to understand what they’ve
heard.
They will be able to catch up the names of the fruits
and vegetables.
They will be able to develop thier speaking and
listening skills.
Little
Red Riding Hood
Once upon a time, ther e is a girl. Her name is
“Little Red Riding Hood”. She always visit her grandmother . She lives in a
village in the forest. She likes cake and vegetable soup , so Little Red Riding
Hood brings her cake and vegetable soup. One day, while she is going to her
grand mother, she sees a fox.
Little Red Riding Hood asks the fox : “Where are you
going?”
The fox answers: “ I am going to find the magical
forest”
She asks: “ Why do you want to find the forest?”
The fox says: “There are delicious bananas, apples,
oranges, eggs,strawberries, cheese , cake and ice cream. I like eggs , so I
want to find there.”
She says: “IMM. I like ice cream so much. I want to
come with you”
They go to find the magical forest. While they are
going, they see a monkey.
The monkey
asks: Where are you going? “
They answer :” we are going to find the magical
forest”
The monkey asks: “ Why do you want to find the
forest?”
Little Red Riding Hood answers :”There are delicious
bananas, apples, oranges, eggs, cheese , cake and ice cream. I like ice cream
and he likes eggs , so we want to find there.”
The monkey
says: Immm. I like bananas so much. I want to come with you.”
They go on
walking . While they are going, they see a bird.
The bird
asks: “ Where are you going?”
They answer :
“ We are going to find the magical forest.”
The bird asks: “ Why do you want to find there?”
Little Red Riding Hood says: There are delicious
bananas, apples, oranges, eggs, cheese , cake and ice cream. I like ice cream
and the fox likes eggs , the monkey likes bananas, so wewant to find there. “
The bird says :” Imm I like strawberries. I want to
come with you.”
Finally, they find the forest and they eat apples,
oranges, strawberries, bananas, eggs, cake, ice cream and cheese.

1. Retelling
the story
2. Matching
the Pictures of the fruits and vegetables with
their names
.
Prodecures:
After the teacher reads the story, she wants to
terell the story briefly.
A volunteer student comes to the board and retells
the story.
After that, the teacher sticks the pictures to the
board
She wants the students to match the pictures of the
fruits and vegetables with their names.
(tecaher can ask “ What does the monkey like?”
according to this question, students can match the pictures.)

- Acting out the story
- Rewriting a new story
After the matching part, the teacher says they will
act out the story.
The students who are volunteers come to the board
and the teacher gives them the pictures of the characters . The teacher starts
to read the story .
While she is
reading , the students act out their part and say their sentences.
Then, teacher divides the class into 4 groups , and
she asks them to write a new story based on the story she has read.
