5th Grade Unit 9 Farm Life Teaching Speaking

SUBJECT                     : Farm Life

GRAMMAR POINT   : Animal’s names and like and dilike structues

LESSON                      : English 

ACTIVITY                    : Dialogue and Role-Play



Objectives are;
  •  To develop memory skills
  • To learn how we take turn and make conversations
  •  To be able to use language,effectively.

Materials are;
  • The cards on which the dialogue is written.

 The dialogue is;
Jane: Hello Jim. Where are you going?
Jim: I am going to the my uncle’s farm.
Jane: Is this farm big? Are there a lot of animals?
Jim: Yes, there are a lot of animals there, but it isn’t very big.
Jane: I like the sheeps. Do you like the sheeps?
Jim: Yes, I like them. There are so sweet. We have got 5 sheeps at the farm.
Jane: Hmm. Have you got the horses? I like them so much. They can run very fast.
Jim: Yes, we have four horses at the farm, and I like them so much. Do you like riding the horse?
Jane; I don’t lke riding the horse. But my father likes riding the horse,very much. He likes playing with the dogs ,too, he likes giving foods to them.
Jim: Do you want to come with me to the farm?
Jane: Yes, I want.

The procedure is;
  •    The teacher wants two students , ones who are willing to do the activity,first- to come to the board and choose one cards on which the dialogue is written. They act out the roles they choose. Jim or Jane.
  • They are supposed to perfrom the dialogue.
  •  Then another students are chosen
  •    And the activity goes on like this.
