   Aims:

       To make students learn the grammar point and the vocabulary of this unit by telling a story.

       To make learners be aware of the usage and the meaning of the vocabulary in a better way.

       To make learners develop their pronunciation while stressing the correct pronunciation of these new vocabulary and the grammar point of the unit.

       To give a chance to learners entertain while learning.

Activity 1:

   Story-telling

                          Mertcan’s Song about His Cat

      There is a little boy. His name is Mertcan. He has got a lovely family. One day he wants to go fishing with his father. His father is a strong man. He has got a blue car. Mertcan and his father prepare all things. Then, his mother comes. She has got red curly hair and amazing brown eyes. She wants to join them. They leave from the home together.

    In the way, Mertcan sings a song about his cat;

         I have got a cat.

         It is big and fat.

         It has got a brown hat.

         I have got a lovely cat.

  Then, they arrive near the sea. They start to catching fishes happily. Suddenly, Mertcan hears a sound. He looks around. And, at last his grandfather and grandmother. They are very nice. His grandfather has got a grey hair and big glasses. His grandmother has got curly grey hair. Mertcan wants to say his song to his grandmother and grandfather. Then, he begins to sing.

             I have got a cat

          It is big and fat.

          It has got a brown hat.

          I have got a lovely cat.

 His grandfather and grandmother become very happy. They smile at Mertcan. After fishing, they leave from the sea together. They get in the blue car of Mertcan’ s father. In the way, Mertcan sees his brother and sister. They turn back from the school. They are very tired because they have got heavy bags full of books. Mertcan wants to say his song to them. And, he starts;

         I have got a cat.

         It is big and fat.

         It has got a brown hat.

         I have got a lovely cat.

  His sister and brother applaud him happily. They say that it is perfect.   They are all together arrives to the home. Mertcan’s mother and grandmother cook fishes. They prepare dinner table. Everyone sit on the table. But, Mertcan doesn’t come. His father calls him Mertcan! Mertcan come here my son! Then, Mertcan comes with his guitar. He has got an amazing toy guitar. He wants to say his song again.

      Everyone listen, Mertcan plays his guitar and sings his song;

         I have got a cat.

         It is big and fat.

         It has got a brown hat.

         I have got a lovely cat.

  His family applauds him heavily. They look at Mertcan with smiling face. They have got a great dinner.

 Retelling of the story by the students

Activity instructions

Teacher begins to show pictures one by one from the very beginning of the story in power point presentation

She asks questions about the pictures and tries to make students remember the story.

The activity goes on like this till the whole story can be told by the students.

At the end, teacher wants from students to write a story about Mertcan’s cat.

She writes the introduction part at first, and then she wants from them to complete this story.
