GRADE: 4th

UNIT 1: NEW FRIENDS

Pronunciation: good morning, good afternoon, good evening, good night.

Aims: To pronounce greetings words correctly.
To make students be aware of how the greetings words are pronounced.

Materials:a song video about greetings called “The greetings song”, colourful pictures, print-outs, patafix, and board.

Present Part: Listening to a song

The students listen to the song twice. And then they repeat the lyrics “good morning, good afternoon, good evening, and good night”.

Practice Part: Matching and what’s missing?

The teacher asks the students to match the pictures and print-out on the board. After that, the teacher wants the students to close their eyes.  The teacher hides one of the pictures and asks the students “What’s missing?”. The students predict the missing part and pronounce it correctly. For example; one of the pictures of good morning is missing. The students say “One of the good morning pictures is missing”. This activity continues in this way.
