Field of Teaching :  PRONUNCIATION TEACHING

Vocabulary : Basic vocabulary about food and drinks such as sandwich, fruit juice, hamburger, chocolate, pizza, coke, cheese, tea, water, bread, ice-cream, milk, honey, coffee, egg, cake, apple, etc.

Aims: -Students will be able to say food and drinks in English with intelligible pronunciation.

- Students  will be able to produce sounds of  these words correctly as much as possible.

Activity 1: Watching a video, Power Point Presentation, Listening and Repeating Activity

Materials : Power Point slide show, a video
    Presentation : https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BzDC2WOWpU32SjAzem1zVXVFR00/edit?usp=sharing

Procedure : In order to make the students hear pronunciation of some food and drinks, the lesson starts with a video. After students watch the video, the teacher opens the slides and sound out the relevant vocabulary. Following the teacher, students repeat the words altogether. They will hear the correct pronunciation and will try to say.

Activity 2 : Slap That Word game

Materials : A fly swatter, a board, word cards

Procedure: The words are located on the wall. The teacher divides the class into two groups. One student(Student A) from one group comes and chooses a word card. One student (Student B) from the second group comes to the board and takes a fly swatter. The A student  sounds out the word  in the card which he has chosen. The B student listens to his friend carefully and looks for the word that s/he hears on the board. Then, he tries to slap that word in five seconds with this fly swatter. If s/he can do that in five seconds, his team will get one point; otherwise the other team will get the point.
