NOTICING ACTIVITY

Activity: PowerPoint Presentation

Aim:  These are noticing activities. The aim of these activities is to attract attention of students and teach them new subject as noticing part. With visual activity they learn better and they pay attention to the subject. The new subject is introduced with the pictures and example sentences. Thanks to that the students can learn how they make sentences and how they say their favourite activities with using like/dislike clauses.

Materials: PowerPoint Presentation (about the activities)

Produce: 1) Presentation will be shown up to the students.

  2) Activities will be introduced with the pictures.

  3) While showing the presentation, it will be pointed how to use like/dislike with the activities.

                                 STRUCTURING ACTIVITY

Activity:  Fill in the missing parts on the sentences according to the pictures.

Aim: This activity is structuring activity. The aim of this activity is to help students internalize the language forms which are presented in the noticing part. (Showing activities, emphasizing the grammar point) In this activity, students will learn the name of daily activities and how to use it with like/dislike clauses. In this activity, students will do the exercises on their own and they use their cognitive knowledge.

Materials: Handout (exercises about the activities) and board

Procedure: 1) The students will fill the worksheets which are missing parts of the name of the activities.

                     2) After 10 minutes. The answers of the worksheet will be presented while doing with the students.

                     3) The answers that the students cannot do will be written on the board.

                     4) The activities written on the board are emphasized. And make the students learn the name of activities and the grammar point.

                                    PROCEDURALIZING ACTIVITY

Activity: Find your favourite activities’ pictures and paste them on the cartoon and present in        the class.

Aim: This activity is a proceduralizing activity. The aim of this activity is to make the students learn much better. After they prepare their cartoons, they present in front of the class and talk about them. Thus, they can use their communicative skill and practice their language. While presenting, the students can ask questions about the activities.

Materials: Cartoons that the students prepared.

Procedure: 1) Some of the students will present their homework by individually.

                   2) Student A can ask questions to student B about the favourite activities.

                   3) Students can share their favourite activities to the class.
