PRESENTATION
Activity: Showing a video and acting it out with students
Aims: To attract students’ attention.
To involve students in pronunciation by acting and singing the song.
Procedure
The teacher enters the classroom with some materials. She/he says “Hello” and asks “How are you?” Then the teacher says that “I will show you a video one time then we will watch video again, but this time we will say together”. Then they watch video and act it out with teacher and sing the song. The teacher should be careful about pronunciation.
PRACTICE
Activity: Matching game
Aims: To practice pronunciation of words.
           To make pronunciation memorable.
Procedure
The teacher sticks the cards on the board in a mix order but cards’ backs should be turned. Then the teacher divides students into groups of two. One of the students from each group comes to board and selects two cards; if the two cards match they get a point, if they don’t match, nobody gets point, but when students choose a card on which it is written a sentence, students should pronounce it. If they don’t pronounce correctly, they lose. This game continues like this. The teacher can change the order of cards. After the game, the group who gets more points wins the game.
PRODUCE
Activity: Writing a song like in the video about what they can do and what they can’t do.
Aim: To practice pronunciation
To make students learn pronunciation independently.
Procedure
After the matching activity have finished; the teacher divides students into five groups. Every group should write what can they do and what they cannot do and one student from each group comes to board and sings their group’s song. The teacher should be careful about pronunciation. If a student makes pronunciation error, the teacher should correct him/her. Then the lesson finishes. If the teacher wants; he/she sings an example of song..
An example of song;
I can play volleyball
Play volleyball, and play football… how about you?
We can’t play handball, play handball, and play basketball, how about you?
