Deniz TEKİN
Lesson: English
Subject: should shouldn’t
Duration: 40 min.
Materials: flashcards, worksheets,

Aims:
At the end of the lesson students will be able to use should and shouldn’t correctly.
They will be able to give advice and talk about their illnesses.

Presentation

The teacher shows some pictures about ill people and talks about them. She says “the girl has got a headache. She should take an aspirin.” “He has got flu. He shouldn’t go out.” The teacher puts the pictures on the board and writes the sentences. Then she wants students to find out specific structures in these sentences. Most probably the students will recognize should and shouldn’t. Then the teacher asks “what do you think of this structure? What does it mean to you?” if the students have difficulty in understanding the teacher can translate in Turkish or clarify for students.
