4th Grades Unit 11 Food and Drinks Speaking Activities

Grade/ Unit: 4th grade-Unit 11-Food and Drinks

Language point: carrot, orange, banana, grapes, potato, tomato, apple, milk, water, fruit juice, tea, hamburger

Aims: to use learned vocabulary and grammar, to develop listening awareness, to try to express their own ideas in English

Materials: videos


Activity: discussion
Aims: Pupils watch a video and discuss about the video with their classmates.
1-      Children listen and watch a video called ‘smoothie’. ( http://learnenglishkids.britishcouncil.org/en/kids-news/smoothie )
2-      They answer some questions about the video. (What does she forget? Who is the man? How does she find banana? What fruits would you put into the mixer? ) They make guesses. They have a class discussion about how can the video continue.
3-      They listen and watch the second video. (http://learnenglishkids.britishcouncil.org/en/kids-news/fruit-smoothie-3 )
4-      They will speak about what happened in the second video and have a class discussion about it again.
5-      They will answer some questions like if you were … what would you do etc…
6-      They listen and watch the third video. (http://learnenglishkids.britishcouncil.org/en/kids-news/fruit-smoothie-4 )
7-      They will summarize what happened as a whole in the videos.
