Noticing

Activity: showing pictures about lessons
Aim: The aim is to teach new words by using demonstration and verbal techniques and to make students aware of the new words. Students can associate the meaning of the words with pictures; so they will be memorable.


Procedure:
  • The teacher shows pictures one by one to the students. In each picture, the teacher asks some questions such as “ What do you see in the picture?, In which lesson we use these materials?” Here, the teacher uses the eliciting tecnique.
  • Then, students make predictions about that lesson and teacher says the name of the lesson.
  • Then, the teacher sticks the picture on the board and writes the name of the lesson under the picture.

Structuring

Activity: Completing the weekly schedule on the board
Aim: The aim is to make students practice the new words and to draw students’ attention by using weekly schedule which consists of pictures. In this way, students can associate the meaning of words with the pictures, so the words will be permanent.
Procedure:
  • There will be five groups.
  • A same weekly schedule which consists of pictures will be given to the each group.
  • The teacher will draw the weekly schedule on the board, and ask each group one day’s lessons. For example, the first group will complete the Monday’s lessons on the board by looking the pictures on the weekly schedule which is given to them previously.
  • All groups will complete their part on the board and they will create a weekly schedule.
Material: A weekly schedule which consists of pictures

Proceduralizing:

Activity: Interview
Aim: The aim is to make students internalize the knowledge that they learn previously and to make them produce the language. In addition, the other aim is that students can interact with each other while learning. They can learn how to communicate in the related topic.
Procedure:
·         Students will asked to create their own weekly schedules.
·         Students will be in pairs.
·         They will make an interview with each other about their weekly schedule. They ask to each other such kind of questions: “ What is your favorite lesson? or What lessons have you got on Monday?”
·         Then students will share the knowledge which they get from their partner with the class.
Material: a pen, a paper
