5th Grade Unit 4 School Life Games

SONAY AKÇADAĞ 09131008
LESSON: ENGLISH

CLASS: 5TH GRADE

UNIT: SCHOOL LIFE-CLASSROOM RULES

MATERIALS: The pictures of the school objects (pencil, pen, pencil case, ruler, rubber, book, notebook, bag, chair etc.), a big bag, some small note cards.

LANGUAGE POINT: Classroom objects

AIMS:
To motivate the students
To create a fun atmosphere
To help them improve their memory skills
To practice the language in a stress free environment

PROCEDURE: Teacher prepares the class for the game and puts all the pictures on the board then takes out a big bag which has got the descriptions or explanations of the school objects on pieces of small cards. Teacher puts his/her hand into the bag and chooses a card and starts to read the explanation of the word. For example, the teacher says  “ We study lesson on it, we put our books on it”. Students look at the pictures on the board and try to find the school object. The student who knows the word “table” comes to the board and takes the picture of the table and sits down. The game goes on like that. After the game finishes , the teacher wants the students to change their pictures of classroom objects with others. And then the teacher asks who has got pen? The student who has got pen shows the picture of it and this time that student asks who has got chair? This goes on like that and they all together practice the classroom objects.
