Teaching Vocabulary Unit 9 Farm life

Procedure of the lesson : 

Teacher comes to class with cartoon animals.Then teacher writes ‘ Our Beautiful Farm ‘ as a heading across the top of the board. Teacher invites children to come to the board to draw something beautiful which is in a farm like an animal,a bird, a etc. Students create a beautiful farm.Teacher leaves the picture on the board throughout the lesson.

 A Puppet says something to children.They want to learn ‘Old Mcdonald’s song’.Students listen to‘Old Mcdonald’ song and teacher supports vocabulary items in story with flashcards.Students learn and repeat words.Teacher teaches the chant to children using pictures and the things that animals like.Teacher emphasizes ‘It is … and it likes …’When they are familiar with the chant they can repeat it in different ways-fast and slow,in a high voice,in two groups etc

 Teacher create pairs.Then teacher gives students one of the flashcards.Student A gives a definition but doesn't say the target word.Student B guesses what the word is.And they get it right,they get a one point and different students come to board to continue the game.
