OBJECTIVES

 
1)Students can learn vocabulary and grammar inductively.

2)They can improve their pronunciation by repeating words more or two times.

3)They can visualize the event in the story and predict next the event with pictures

4)Students can learn language with fun

5)Students can be more active in the lesson by repeating forms and wors

                     PRESENTATION

 

             ALICE IN SEVEN REGIONS

   The teacher enters classroom and asks to students which story they like much. After she hear responses from them she says that she is going to tell the story and also she says them “ when I touch my ear you repeat the word which I says very loudy”. Then she starts to tell the story. Alice wears her shoes, takes her bag and go to the bus. Becuse she wants to see seven regions of Turkey in seven days. Firstly, she goes to İstanbul which is in the Marmara region. Here there are so many cars so she is afraid a little. While she is walking she blashes Eylül, Alice falls down and hurts her leg. Eylül helps her and Alice talks about her story. Eylül says “come with me and I show you mountains, seas and plains in Marmara region. “The teacher touches her ear and the students repeat the region”. After Alice sees İstanbul in the Marmara region, she goes to the central anatolia region, she sees Anıtkabir and says “ here is Ankara and it is a city in central anatolia region. She also sees Atatürk’s grave. After central anatolia region, “The teacher touches her ear and the students repeat the region”,  she goes to Trabzon but she does not know which region Trabzon is in. She askes to someone. A girl say Trabzon is in the black sea region. Alice sees mountains, valleys and seas. She says herself that The black sea region has so many trees. After the black sea “The teacher touches her ear and the students repeat the region “ , she goes to Erzurum in the third day ,she feels less cold in the morning than The Marmara region which is sunny. When she buys a chocolate from the market, she comes acroos her friend. Her friend name is yasemin. Alice says how are you? Yasemin says I am fine and you, what are you doing in Erzurum?  Alice says “ I am fine and I am seeing seven region in Turkey. Which region is here? Yasemin says Eastern anatolia region, Erzurum is in the eastern anatolia region. “The teacher touches her ear and says in the eastern anatolia region loudy and the students repeat it”, Alice says “ okey can we visit mountains, plains and seas together?. Yasemin laughs so much and says “ there is not any sea in the eastern anatolia region. “The teacher touches her ear and says  there is not any sea loudly and students repeats “ After eastern anatolia region she goes to southeastern anatolia region. When she asks herself “ which city am I? she sees “ turkish baklava in a resturants and she answers her question. “Here is Gaziantep and it is a city in the southeastern anatolia region. “The teacher touches her ear and says in the southeastern  region loudy and the students repeat” After she eats “ turkish Baklava” and sees plains and mountains in the southeastern anatolia region, she goes to the mediterrean region. She is shocked when she sees poeple swim in the sea in the spring season. She remembers this city from her english book and says “ here is Antalya and it is a city in the meditterrean region. She looks at sea and sit down for a while. She says “ meditterrean region is so sunny and nice”. After meditterrean region, The teacher touches her ear and says mediterrean region loudly and the students repeat it she goes to aegean region. She remembers here because she comes with her parents for her aunt. Her aunt lives in İzmir. Alice goes to her aunt home and she tell her story. She asks “ which region is İzmir in? The teacher touches her ear and says which region loudly and the students repeat it”  Her aunt says “ İzmir is a city in the aegean region. Alice repeats here is agean region. Suddenly, alice falls her bed and hurts her head. Her mother comes and ask “ Are you okey Alice? Alice says “ yes. Mumuy”. It is only a dream. Alice goes to the kitchen and says Mummy “I see regions of Turkey in my dream”. She says their names “The Marmara region, the black sea region, central anatolia region, agean region, meditterrean region, southeastern region, eastern anatolia region.” Her mother kisses Alice and give her a “turkish baklava” like her dream.      

 

                  

PRACTICE

 
GUESSİNG GAME

 
The teacher says write names of regions on the board and wants students pronunce them once more. She divides into students three groups and wants them to decide which region is. She also says “which group predicts much correctly will be winner. She shows the picture one by one and asks them  “Where is Alice in the first day? “ and one by one groups says their answer.

MAKING A DIALOGUE

The teacher wants students to choose one region and tell it to their partners. The teacher gives an example.

A:which region are you in?  

B:I am in the eastern region.

B:which region are you in?

A: I am in the Marmara region.
