PRESENTATION:
Activity
1: Listening to a
song about numbers
Students first listen to the song carefully and then
teacher wants them listen to again. This time, students repeat the numbers
after the song.
Activity
2: Matching game
Materials: papers of numbers
Step: Teacher brings papers which include numbers and
their written forms. S/he puts them on the table and mixes. Students try to
match the numbers with their written forms and stick to the board. The game
goes on like that.
PRACTICE:
Activity
1: Picture
Dictation
Step: Teacher wants students to take a paper and
students draw what the teachers says. Teacher says simple things with using
numbers. For instance:
Draw eighteen circles.
Draw thirteen lines.
Draw fourteen boxes.
Activity
2: Correcting Game
Materials: sets of numbers
Step: Teacher prepares sets of number for students.
Each set includes ten numbers (11-20) and some of them are wrong. Teacher makes
students into groups and gives one set to each group. Each group puts (û) and corrects numbers if they are wrong and puts tick
(ü) if they are right. After the groups have finished,
teacher changes the numbers sets of groups and the groups check each other.
Activity
3: Painting game
Materials: coloring pages
Step: Teacher find coloring pages and write numbers on
them. On the corner of the paper, s/he writes numbers’ written forms with
colors. In the class, teacher makes students pairs and ask them paint the pages
according to these colors.
