   GAMES FOR REGIONS IN TURKEY

OBJECTIVES of GAMES

To make the lesson enjoyable and help learners pay attention the lesson easily

To teach learners how to  think for a while to answer

To provide collobaration comes out between the learners

To prepare the learners physchologically and phsically be active in the lesson
 


 
PRESENT  PART

The aim:  to help the students what they have learnt.

   The teacher comes to the class by saying “ Are you happy today” and continues “we are going to play games which are about seven regions in Turkey today.  Firstly she remind them what regions and their features are with powerpoint presentation. Also she shows them where they are in the map andwants students to pronunce the regions one by one.

PRACTICE PART

The first game: Memory Game

The aim: to make learns improve their memory and make the knowledge about the subject permanent

The teacher shows the material by saying “ we are going to play a game." This game name is memory game. She starts to explain how they will play the game. She says that In this game she divides the class in to two group . the one member of the first group  comes to the board and opens the coloured paper in right side which includes region pictures. And then this student opens the  left side which shows the names of region. the map on the carton helps students find easily. If this student can not match correctly,  one member of  the other group comes to match. The second game: Guessing game

The aim: to make the students be aware of what they know

The teacher says that they are going to play another game ,which is guessing game. The teacher explains by saying that she read region features and the students predict which region may be.

Which region can it be?    

1.                                                   

·         It has Erzurum city .                                               

·         It is co cold in winters

·         It has not any sea

·         It is a region in the east of turkey

The answer:  The Eastern anatolia region

2.

·         It has Trabzon city

·         It has many trees

·         It has a sea

·         It is in the north of Turkey.

The answer: The Black sea region

3.

·         It has Gaziantep city.

·         It is so dry and cold in winter

·         It has not any sea

·         It is in the southeast of Turkey.

The answer: The Southeastern anatolia region

4.

·         It has İstanbul city

·         It has seas

·         It is so crowded

·         It is in the west of Turkey.

The answer: The marmara region

·         It has Antalya city

·         It is so sunny in summesr

·         It has seas

·         It is in the south of Turkey.

The answer: The Mediterranean region
