STAGE 1: MEANING AND
PRESENTATION
Unit 2: My Classroom
Vocabulary point: Classroom and school objects are the
vocabulary. They are pencil, pen, schoolbag, window, book, ruler, notebook,
pencil case, eraser, sharpener, table, wastebasket, board, door, and chair.
Technique: Demonstration is used to introduce
new vocabulary and convey meaning. Showing the real objects helps students to
memorize the word through visualization, so I will introduce school objects one
by one with the help of a hand puppet.
Aim: To introduce new vocabulary, help
students memorize the words and make students enjoy the class.
Materials: Real school objects, a hand puppet.
Procedure: Teacher puts the school objects on a
table in front of the class and starts to show real objects to the students.
While showing them, the puppet starts to talk and introduce the vocabulary to
the class.
STAGE 2: ATTENDING TO
FORM
Unit 2: My Classroom
Vocabulary point: Classroom and school objects are the
vocabulary. They are pencil, pen, schoolbag, window, book, ruler, notebook,
pencil case, eraser, sharpener, table, wastebasket, board, door, and chair.
Technique: Listening and repeating. After the
teacher shows the objects and the puppet introduces the vocabulary, students
watch the slide show and repeat that word.
Aim: Aim is to pronounce the words
correctly.
Materials: PowerPointSlide Show
Procedure: Teacher presents a slide show. The
names of the objects are also written there and the students also see the
pictures of those school objects. After that, the students repeat altogether
and the teacher checks pronunciation.
STAGE 3: VOCABULARY PRACTISING
Unit 2: My Classroom
Vocabulary point: Classroom and school objects are the
vocabulary. They are pencil, pen, schoolbag, window, book, ruler, notebook,
pencil case, eraser, sharpener, table, wastebasket, board, door, and chair.
Aim: Aim is to help students practice
vocabulary.
Activity: Kim’s Game
Procedure: The teacher asks students to look
at the real objects and then tells them to close their eyes and removes an
object from the table. After the students open their eyes they try to guess
what is missing. Before that, teacher puts the class into three or four groups
and after they guess one of the team members writes the correct spelling on the
board and if they write it correctly, they will gain a plus and they will be winner.
